Course Description

This course offers a foundational overview of Orthokeratology, covering lens design, candidate selection, topography interpretation, and basic troubleshooting. Participants will learn to evaluate fluorescein patterns, assess post-treatment maps, and apply clinical insights through case review to build confidence in Ortho-k fitting principles and effective follow-up care.

Course Objectives

  • Describing the fundamental principles and terminology of Ortho-k designs.
  • Identifying ideal candidates and recognize contraindications for Ortho-k treatment.
  • Interpreting pre-fitting corneal topography and understanding baseline keratometry readings.
  • Evaluating fluorescein patterns to predict lens fit and treatment outcomes.
  • Assessing post-treatment topography maps for treatment effectiveness.
  • Applying basic troubleshooting strategies to improve fit and visual outcomes.

Course Assessment

There is a 40-question test at the end of the course. A successful passing score of 80% is required on all ABO-NCLE continuing education courses in order to earn the designated number of credits. You will know your grade instantly after completing the course.
