Course Description
In‐house edging and surfacing labs can increase business and patient satisfaction due to speed and cost‐saving procedures. This course will increase the eye care professional’s (ECP) overall knowledge of lab equipment and procedures, with an emphasis on systems designed for in‐house use.
Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, the ECP will be able to:
- Recognize the analyses needed to evaluate providing in‐house services
- Assess whether in‐house or outsourcing services is best
- Review financial and practical benefits of in‐house labs
- Compare equipment features and lens inventories
- Review surfacing steps, edging steps and inspection procedures
- Evaluate and reduce risks
Course Assessment
There is a 40-question test at the end of the course. A successful passing score of 80% is required on all ABO-NCLE continuing education courses in order to earn the designated number of credits. You will know your grade instantly after completing the course.
