Course Summary
To best understand correct dispensing of soft contact lenses, it is necessary to first understand the ocular anatomy and the interaction of contact lenses. The type of lens specified by a prescription is based on the patient needs. It is important that every optician in the dispensary knows how to interpret a written contact lens prescription and choose the correct product from the shelf. It is also critical that the optician recognizes when a patient must be referred back to the prescribing doctor. Both spectacle dispensers and contact lens fitters will benefit from the information in this course.
